For me a good bedtime read is something that I can pick up and hop back into quickly before my eyes get sleepy and I tap out for the day. This book is a great compilation of fictional short stories that bring scripture to life. Each story features a different female bible character. Along with the truth of scripture the author adds some fictional pieces that encourage you to imagine the fuller lives and stories of these women. Ever wonder what Bathsheba’s perspective was or the danger Rahab experienced in her escape from Jericho? Give it a read and tell me it doesn’t take you into scripture the way “The Chosen” takes you into the story of Jesus.
