We are so excited that Mike Cahoon has been hired as an interim part time (up to 10hours a week) staff member. He will be focusing on visiting, pastoral care, and connections. He will work alongside Drew in these areas. Mike and his wife Lorraine have been part of the Calvary family for almost a year and we have already been blessed by his pastoral gifts. We have been prayerfully seeking another staff person to fill this role for a few years now and we are excited for this next step for Mike and for Calvary!

Hi, my name is Mike Cahoon. I’m originally from Northern Ireland, and I’m married to Lorraine. We have two beautiful adult daughters, one who lives in Calgary and the other in Belfast.
I previously worked in the field of education in Northern Ireland. While doing that, I found I was increasingly involved in pastoral situations, with both students and staff. This led me to re-train in the areas of counselling and pastoral care. For the last 13 years Lorraine and I have worked as pastoral ministers within Restoring The Foundations Ministries, both in Northern Ireland and here in Canada. I’ve also been studying for my Divinity/Theology degree, and hope to be finished that by 2024.
The call of God to the nation of Canada had remained in our hearts over many years, and so we relocated here permanently in 2013, where we now use our life experiences within a new culture. We both became Canadian Citizens in 2020.
Stepping into this new role at Calvary, I’m really looking forward to working alongside Drew and the team, and to getting to know all of you in our church family even more.
And … I really enjoy photography, model railroads, gardening … and coffee!
