When I heard this song, from Disciple a City Music, for the first time, I was transported to a night this summer when God was close.
I was driving, late at night, from the cottage to a hospital in London, on unfamiliar roads, alone, worried, and anxious. Once I started to pray and talk to God, I felt release, comfort and calm.
The calm I’ve felt in overwhelming situations in the past couple of years was surprising to me, at first, as I am very emotional. Now I feel such peace when I lay situations at His feet.
Cling to You
Written by Nathan Kirschner
The battle may be raging strong
The fire may seem to overcome
I’ll remind myself of who You are
You are faithful and You are good
The storm may be brewing deep within
Assurance may feel paper thin
I’ll remind myself of who You are
You are faithful and You are good
Fear, you don’t stand a chance
‘cause I’ve put my trust in Him
Hope, secure in Him
He is for me and not against
No matter what comes
My heart will be steady
No matter what comes
I’ll fix on You
No matter what comes
Fear can’t hold me
I cling to you
1 Peter 5:7
Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.
