Hey Calvary Family!
I hope all is well in these crazy times! For those of you who don't know me I’m Brayden I’ve been blessed to be attending Sr. Youth since the fall of 2017. It's crazy to look back at myself then and see how much I've grown as a Christian, a friend, a leader and as a man. If you had asked me at the beginning of the summer in 2017 I would have had a very different idea of how the rest of high school would have gone and where I would be heading in my life now. Since then God has come into my life and given me opportunities to do his work with Leadership Development Camp (LDC), working on maintenance at Ryerson Summer Camp, and leadership roles at youth. And now, God has given my next opportunity and adventure. This January I’m headed to do a Discipleship Training School (DTS) in Fort Mcmurray, Alberta through the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) program, where I will be based for about three months serving at the local coffee house, with the local youth group, making meals for low income families and learning about social justice, indiginious awareness, and Jesus. Following the three months of training, I will continue to serve in northern communities in various outreach programs.
I would appreciate your prayers as I head on this next chapter. I am also required to raise $8000. I have been working and saving for this. I also hoped to have a fundraiser event, but in light of covid, I am unable to organize a typical fundraiser. I will be doing an envelope fundraiser that will be starting soon, more on that to come!
