This past winter my neighbour’s Mom passed away at the age of 95 after a very short illness. I decided to bake some things for the family as I knew they would all be gathering to make arrangements. Muffins and cookies…but what kind of cookies? Ginger cookies popped into my mind and I thought, well, I haven’t made those in some time but ok. Later on that day, after I had delivered them, my neighbour texted me and said…How did you know??? These were the family’s favourite cookie that their Mom always made!
I wrote in my journal…God you are so good…even in our grief you send us reminders that you are right there with us…your hug wrapped in ginger cookies!
